2Halves PIG OUTS: Alkhai Garden and Restobar – feels like Home Cooked.

We are a family who enjoys cooking and preparing meals together at home. Who doesn’t? We are not a family of chef –but you don’t have to be one to know what a good food should taste like, right? 😉

But because I don’t want my partner and my papa to cook for their birthday celebration, I tried my luck and treat them out to a new restaurant who promotes their alfresco dining that overlooks the mountain near town. Hoping if not with the food, maybe the view will be worth the shot.

Fingers crossed.. let’s go!!!

What We Had:

We paid 3500PHP for all these which I think is just enough for our family / group of 11 (may take home pa). Obviously we enjoyed everything served on our table.

This tho is not a fast food restaurant, so expect that preparing your meal might take time. The owner suggest that you place a call and order in advance to avoid much waiting. But if in case still arrived earlier than your reservation time, you can let time pass seeing how your food is being prepared as their kitchen is seen from the counter (just like watching at home).

Not interested interested in cooking? Go to the restaurant’s 3rd floor and see the overlooking view the restaurant is so proud of.

If you please, you can also ask the staff to set your chow up here for an alfresco dining if the sun and weather permits.

Nice view Indeed.

And before I end this review, please bear with us,  as we let our youngest sister take her selfies.

2halves THOUGHTS :

  • All staff are welcoming and accommodating. Not sure if it’s because we are the only guests that time, or because it is new. But hopefully service and staff will remain the same even when they become known.
  • The food is affordable and yummy, aside from the buttered shrimp which I found a bit pricey; everything else is worth the price. Just a suggestion: maybe add a group or barkada meal or family package good for numbers of person. Maybe some complimentary dish or a promo for those celebrating at the restaurant (just my opinion tho).
  • If you’re not a fan of waiting game, I strongly agree to the owner that you call in advance for your orders.
  • For me the best time to visit the restaurant is around 4 in the afternoon, when it’s not too hot so you can dine outside but not dark so you can still enjoy the view.

All in all taking a risk trying out this new restaurant is truly worth it. Not only of its view but more because of its affordable delicious home cooked food and their great great staff. Of course, there’s no better home cooked meals but at home; but if you want to eat home cooked meals without the hassle of cooking at home it is not a bad idea to try something new like Alkhai Garden and Restobar.
